"Banks Never Ask That": Security Awareness

What will banks never ask you for?


Ever received an email asking for your bank account number? It's probably a scam, because Banks Never Ask That.

Have you ever received an email that appeared to be from your bank, but it asked you to click a suspicious link? Nice try, scammer.

We all get spammy texts. But what if a text looks and sounds just like your bank? Ignore it and delete. 

Have you ever received a text message asking you to call your bank at a weird number? It's probably a scam because Banks Never Ask That.

Would your bank call you to verify your account number? Nope. Banks Never Ask That. Just hang up, and call the number on the back of your card.

Would your bank call you to verify your password? Nope. Banks Never Ask That. Just hang up, and call the number on the back of your card.

Your bank will never ask you to send money to yourself — or anyone else — with payment apps like Zelle, Venmo, CashApp.

Your bank will never text you and ask you to reply with the password to your Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, or any payment app.

If you get any text message about payment apps — even if it looks official — just ignore it and call the number on the back of your bank card.
