October Is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Take Steps to Protect Your Accounts
An unexpected text, a convincing email, or a phone call that appears to come from your bank can put your information at risk. October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a reminder to stay alert, recognize warning signs, and use the tools available to help protect your accounts.
MCT encourages you to make account security part of your everyday routine. Start with these practical steps.
Pause Before You Respond
Scammers often create urgency to pressure you into sharing sensitive information or moving money. A familiar name, recognizable caller ID, or official-looking message does not guarantee that a request is legitimate.
Before clicking a link or responding to an unexpected request, take a moment to verify it through a trusted contact method. Do not share your online banking password, PIN, or one-time verification codes with someone who contacts you unexpectedly. If a call or message claims to be from MCT and feels suspicious, call us directly at 877-325-2265.

Take More Control Over Your Debit Card
Whether you have misplaced your card, are shopping online, or are preparing to travel, MCT debit card controls in the mobile app let you manage how and where your card is used. You can turn your card on or off and set controls based on location, transaction amount, merchant type, and transaction type.
Explore these features before you need them so you are ready to act quickly. Learn more at mct.bank/debit-cards.
Stay Informed With Account Alerts
Account alerts can help you notice unusual activity sooner. Set up notifications through MCT Online or Mobile Banking and choose the alerts that matter most to you.
Alerts work alongside regular account reviews. If you notice a transaction you do not recognize, contact MCT promptly. Find setup instructions at mct.bank/alerts.
Keep Security Resources Within Reach
You do not have to navigate a suspicious situation alone. If you believe you have shared sensitive information with a scammer or suspect fraudulent activity on your account, contact MCT immediately at 877-325-2265 or visit your local office.
